Description:
The Tengu is a humanoid creature with bird-like features, often depicted with a red face, sharp, piercing eyes, and a long nose or beak. Its body is usually human-like but covered in feathers, with wings allowing it to fly or glide between trees. Tengu are often dressed in traditional Japanese attire and carry a feathered fan or staff, believed to have mystical powers. They are known to be mischievous, playing tricks on travelers or punishing those they deem arrogant.
Habitat:
Deep mountainous forests and temples located in remote regions. Tengu are particularly associated with sacred mountains and are thought to guard these places against intruders.
Abilities:
Tengu are known to transform into humans, animals, or even objects to play tricks on people or remain hidden. Their wings enable them to fly or glide effortlessly through forests, allowing them to remain elusive. Tengu can create illusions to confuse or mislead people in their territory, often making travelers lose their way.Tengu are considered masters of martial arts, particularly skilled with the sword and staff. They’re also known to teach these skills to those they deem worthy.
